A Prairie Home Companion
Georgia Sholl says "Robert Altman's latest film is a quirky celebration of a lost era. In an interesting blend of fact and fiction "A Prairie Home Companion" takes its name from a cult radio variety show starring Garrison Keillor, who plays himself."

World Trade Center
Mark Beirne says "Oliver Stone's recreation of September 11 is a very different movie to Paul Greengrass's "United 93", and not nearly as good. "World Trade Center" has the feel of a big-budget Hollywood blockbuster, and balances the tragedy of the terrorist attacks with a constant undercurrent of sentimentality."

The Devil Wears Prada
For this flick Mark Beirne suggests "Meryl Streep is so good in "The Devil Wears Prada" that she elevates a breezy comedy into one of the most entertaining and rewarding movies of the year. The Oscar-winning actress plays boss-from-hell Miranda Priestly, the editor-in-chief of fashion magazine Runway, who hires meek college graduate Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway) as her new assistant."

Stormbreaker
Samuel Downing marks "The world has found a new star in Alex Pettyfer, the 15-year-old actor who takes on the role of teen super-spy Alex Rider in "Stormbreaker", the keenly awaited silver screen adaptation of Anthony Horowitz's best-selling novel."

Monster House
Georgia Sholl remarks "Despite a promising cast (Steve Buscemi, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Jon Heder) and producer (Steven Spielberg), "Monster House" fails to excite. This is the story of three friends and a haunted house. DJ is approaching puberty and lacks confidence, Jenny is a precocious princess and Chowder is chubby and clueless."

Garfield 2
Samuel Downing says "It's hard to believe that Hollywood is so creatively barren that a studio executive actually sat down and thought it would be a good idea to make a sequel to "Garfield" (2004), a flick roundly trashed by audiences and critics alike."

Miami Vice
Mark Beirne marks "Michael Mann, executive producer of the 1980s television series "Miami Vice", jumps into the director's seat and rides at full throttle for this big screen remake. Gone are the fluoro shirts, white suits and sunshine of the TV show and in its place a dark and gritty crime thriller that retains the gorgeous look of Mann's last film, "Collateral."

Curious George
"Curious George" is a colourful, endearing romp with its heart in the right place. This animated feature is the story of Ted (Will Ferrell) a hapless, disaster-prone museum assistant, and George, his accidental pet monkey." remarks Georgia Sholl.

Lady in the Water
Jonathan Pedreira suggests ""I see dead people." Remember that line? It feels like M. Night Shyamalan's masterpiece "The Sixth Sense" came out last century... wait a minute, it did! But the usually surprising director has proven that he has lost the plot with the tragically disappointing "Lady in the Water". "

Material Girls
"Opening with a cover version of Madonna's classic song, "Material Girls" is a light and charming comedy that sends up today's generation of celebrity socialites. Ava (Haylie Duff) and Tanzie (Hilary Duff) Marchetta are a cross between the Hilton sisters and the Olsen twins." says Mark Beirne.
